IWM Duxford | In the Cockpit: Spitfire N3200
Join one of our expert IWM guides in a unique opportunity to sit inside the cockpit of IWM Duxford's airworthy MK.1 Spitfire. Learn the story of how the N3200 flew with the 19 Squadron from Duxford during the Dunkirk evacuation in 1940. The experience will begin with a 25-minute talk outside the aircraft exploring the history of N3200, the role it played in the Dunkirk evacuation, its restoration and a wider look at the role of Fighter Command in the Battle of Britain. This is followed by 15 minutes cockpit session where you take to the controls and have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the conditions experienced by the brave soldiers of Fighter Command.
Each timeslot is exclusive - only one visitor can be booked into each slot. If you require a carer to assist you, please book your slot and bring your carer with you. You do not need to book a carer ticket for the experience, but will need to book a free Carer ticket for General Admission - see below.
